Twice world champion uileann pipe player, three times all Ireland uileann pipes champion. Finbar Furey, also known for playing his Banjo, guitar and whistles the x lead singer of the Furey’s. A very humble man and indeed a people person however an ambassador in Irish traditional music and song, keeping it alive with his travels performances and music worldwide.

The last few years have been good to Finbar with his starring role in Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York where he sings New York Girls. His acting from there took of and in 2007 he starred alongside Vinnie Jones Michael Madsson and Richard Chamberlain in Strength and Honour another movie due for release. In 2009 Finbar was asked to play the lead role in the movie Ivan.

Apart from his demanding movie schedule Finbar has planned his new tour for 2009 /2010 named “Unplugged Smile tour”, which is basically a world tour in October. 2009 Finbar will begin the tour in America playing Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington before heading back to the UK to begin his first leg of his UK shows, playing most major cities and headlining a few festivals in the summer of 2010. Finbar is looking forward to all his dates on the tour. The show will feature most the hits of the past like Sweet sixteen , I will Love you , Red Rose Café and some special surprises. A show not to be missed and one that will never be forgotten.

His Career so far has been a whirlwind. At Present, between live concerts, he is also busy working on a new album that will feature some hits of the past and some fantastic new songs Finbar has just written. And possibly one of the most exciting new chapters in his career is that he is working on his Autobiography. What a Story that will be …..
